MIRPUR: Reminding the world, about the gross human rights violations, atrocities and illegal annexation of Jammu and Kashmir, the people of Kashmir living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday, observed Indian Republic Day as Black Day to give a wakeup call to the world.
According to AJK spokesperson, observing the day as a black day was a wakeup call and reminder to the international community about the urgent and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict, as per the pledged UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, people from across LOC, were chanting anti-India slogans, while holding placards inscribed with slogans and messages related to Indian atrocities in the occupied territory. Participants of the rallies also highlighted human rights abuses and violations in the region.
Protestors Condemn Indian Atrocities
One major purpose of the black day was also to remind the world about the illegal action by the hardline Modi-led government’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A, turning the valley of Kashmir into the largest prison for more than over four years.
The protests and rallies being held in AJK were supported by the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, whereas rallies were held in all ten-district headquarters and nearby towns.
