SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: Indian troops conducted a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Kreeri area of Baramulla district in Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), resulting in the arrest of a youth named Imran Qayoom.
The arrest was carried out by the Indian army’s Rashtriya Rifles. The Indian troops claimed that Imran Qayoom is a militant and asserted that they recovered a pistol, a magazine, and nine pistol rounds from his possession, justifying the arrest. The incident adds to the ongoing tensions and human rights concerns in the disputed region.
The arrest is likely to exacerbate the already fragile situation in IIOJK, where the local population has been facing increased military operations, restrictions, and alleged human rights violations. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely and has called for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict.
