ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP): Indian troops are continuing their violent cordon and search operations and house raids in several Indian illegally occupied districts of Jammu and Kashmir, subjecting residents to severe harassment.
According to Kashmir Media Service, residents of many areas of Kupwara, Baramulla, Kulgam, Islamabad, Shopian, Pulwama, Rajouri and Poonch districts told the media that the ongoing military operations and house raids have made their lives hell.
They said that during these operations, the Indian army, police and paramilitary personnel raid their homes and terrorize inmates, even women and children. They said the soldiers are also resorting to vandalism causing economic loss to the people.
Family members and relatives of a minor boy from North Kashmir’s Bandipora area staged a protest demonstration at Press Enclave in Srinagar over the mysterious death of their relatives.
A 15-year-old boy, Shakir from Banyari area of the district, who was a student of an orphanage on the outskirts of Srinagar, was found dead under mysterious conditions in Kunzer Baramulla on Friday morning. People staged protest demonstrations in Sopore, Baramulla town and Jammu city against the anti-people policies of the occupying authorities.
A woman was crushed to death by an Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force vehicle in Srinagar. Eyewitnesses said a woman was killed after a CRPF vehicle deliberately hit a scooter in the Raj Bagh area.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat All Parties Conference vice-chairman Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar said in a statement issued in Srinagar that the Modi regime has turned occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a gigantic prison ahead of the Hindu Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage in the name of security for the yatrees. . He said the deployment of additional 60,000 troops will further increase the suffering of Kashmiris who have been under constant siege since August 5, 2019.
In particular, the Indian authorities announced the deployment of more paramilitary units for the security of the yatrees. This troop deployment will be in addition to the tens of thousands of force members already deployed throughout the territory. The Amarnath Yatra will begin on July 1 and culminate on August 31.
