SRINAGAR: Indian troops have started extensive search operations in the Poonch and Kishtwar districts of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) against Kashmiri youth.

The operations are part of a broader agenda of the Indian government to implicate Kashmiri youth in fake cases and detain them without trial for an indefinite period.

The situation has deteriorated since the revocation of the special status of the territory on August 5, 2019, by the Modi-led Indian government.

Meanwhile, widespread demonstrations were held at multiple locations in the IIOJK with people demanding their rights and expressing displeasure against the occupation regime.

Residents of Rajouri and Jammu also protested against unscheduled power outages and poor water supply.
