ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has strongly condemned the PTI’s politics of incitement, violence and chaos to disrupt economic stability in the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Sunday, he said the PTI has been following an agenda of creating uncertainty in the country to derail economy from the day one.

The Minister said creating instability in the country is the manifesto of PTI, which is evident from the fact when its workers stormed the Pakistan Television building in Islamabad in 2014. He said it has always pursued the politics of violence and using abusive language against political opponents.

Attaullah Tarar said the PTI always look for dead bodies to carry out propaganda against the government, police and security forces. He added the incidents of May 9 last year were orchestrated to derail the entire system and spread anarchy in the country. He said the PTI is not a political party but a terrorist organization.

Referring to an unfortunate incident that occurred in Bannu on the 15th of July, the Minister said miscreants stormed the boundary wall of Bannu Garrison, which led to the martyrdom of eight security officials. He said the PTI intended to blame that direct fire was opened at civilians. He went on to say the trolls of PTI spread false propaganda on social media by uploading video clips of children from some other countries by dubbing them as these incidents took place in Bannu.

Attaullah Tarar said traders of Bannu had organized a peace rally and some political parties, including the PTI, inserted their armed men to sabotage the event. He said those armed men opened fire, killing a citizen and wounding 22 others. He said this firing incident took place one kilometer away from the cantonment area.

The Minister said now the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government intends to hold an investigation of its own choice into the incident, which we reject. He questioned how the PTI-led government could conduct an inquiry when its own people were involved in the Bannu incident.

Responding to an article that appeared in international media, Attaullah Tarar said the PTI founder is enjoying all modern facilities, including a walking gallery, exercise bicycle, a kitchen, and a lavish dining menu in the jail.

He added the PTI founder is facilitated to hold three meetings weekly with his family, lawyers, friends, and party leaders. He said the PML-N does not believe in political victimization. He said it was the PTI founder, who used to put his political opponents into death cells, including women.

He said the government has not given any instructions for torturing the PTI founder in jail.

Regarding the attack on the Pakistani consulate in Frankfort, the Minister said the Foreign Office has registered a strong protest with the German authorities concerned. He said the foreign ministry has further demanded to ensure the security of the Pakistan Mission and action should be taken against those responsible for security lapse.

He said Chairman NADRA has been asked to analyze the video of ransacking the consulate to determine whether any Pakistani citizens were involved in this incident. He said strict action would be taken against Pakistani citizens if found involved in the incident. He said the passports and identity cards of such people will be blocked.

Attaullah Tarar said the government will continue to work to achieve economic stability in the country, despite all odds.
