Interfaith Harmony Gathering in Solidarity with Jaranwala Victims

ABBOTTABAD: St. Luke’s Church Abbottabad on Tuesday arranged a congregation to demonstrate solidarity with the Christian community in the wake of the unfortunate incident in Jaranwala.

The speakers severely condemned the event and stressed the importance of taking legal steps against the wrongdoers.

The gathering was organized by the Association of Churches Hazara at St. Luke’s Church Abbottabad alongside legal representatives, including Khalid Rabbani Advocate, Deputy Vice President of the High Court Bar Abbottabad, Abdul Razaq Abbasi, District Amir of Jamat-e-Islami, and other were also present on the occasion.

Gathering Strongly Condemns Jaranwala Incident

The speakers also highlighted that Pakistan’s constitution provides for safeguarding minority rights. The incident garnered strong condemnation from different religious leaders and scholars spanning different sects and ideologies, reflecting the country’s stance against such deplorable acts.

They reiterated the essence of Islam, which stressed respecting other religions and faiths as well as consistently propagating a message of peace.

General Secretary of the Association of Churches Hazara Zakir Paul Advocate extended gratitude towards the people who demonstrated interfaith unity.
