ISLAMABAD: Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar is embarking on a significant diplomatic mission as he heads to New York on Sunday to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

This marks a historic moment, as Mr. Kakar is poised to become the first interim prime minister to represent Pakistan at the UNGA.

The 78th UNGA session, scheduled from September 18 to 23, will provide a platform for Prime Minister Kakar to engage in high-level discussions on a wide array of critical global issues. His presence at the assembly signifies Pakistan’s commitment to contributing to the international discourse and sharing its perspectives on the current global landscape.

Accompanied by Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and another minister, Prime Minister Kakar is expected to engage in bilateral discussions with leaders from key countries, including China, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and more. This visit underscores Pakistan’s dedication to fostering strong diplomatic relations and actively participating in global affairs.
