KARACHI: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday paid a visit to the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) Headquarters, assuring them of all possible support and resources to further strengthen their capabilities.
Brigadier Ghulam Abbas, the Director General of Pakistan Coast Guards, warmly welcomed the Minister upon his arrival at the Headquarters.
During his visit, the Interior Minister laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ monument and paid tribute to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice in defense of the motherland. He also received a salute in their honor.
Naqvi was briefed on the professional affairs of the Pakistan Coast Guards, focusing on their efforts to fulfill responsibilities and prevent all forms of smuggling, particularly anti-narcotics activities.
He was informed about the professional training of the Pakistan Coast Guards and the measures taken to combat smuggling, including details of seized drugs, alcohol, and other illicit items, along with the process of disposing of seized drugs.
Appreciating the professional performance of the institution and the dedication and courage of its officers and jawans, Naqvi stated that the Pakistan Coast Guards is the only force that operates both on land and at sea. He emphasized the significant role of the Coast Guards not only during peacetime but also in challenging situations, including wartime.
