ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi has said no one will be allowed to violate the law and damage properties in the name of protest.
Talking to the media in Islamabad on Friday, he said some elements were trying to march on Islamabad in the name of political protest.
The Minister went on to say that the Federal Government has taken all necessary measures to ensure the security of the foreign guests in Islamabad.
He added the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister should consider why and, on whose provocation, he is holding the protest.
However, the Interior Minister regretted the inconvenience faced by the residents of Islamabad due to road closures.
Earlier the Interior Minister had called on the jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party to postpone its protest in Islamabad on Friday due to the visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister.
Naqvi warned that there would be no tolerance for any attempts to hold protests in the capital or incite violence. Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced a protest rally at D-Chowk, which is designated as a red zone, on Friday.
