International Community Condemns Terrorist Attack in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The international community on Saturday strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack targeting a railway station in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, which left at least 26 people dead and 62 others injured.

Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a letter to Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister, affirmed Moscow’s commitment to close cooperation with Islamabad in combating extremism and protecting citizens from violent acts.

He strongly condemned the “barbaric crime,” calling for justice for those responsible.

“We are determined to continue close cooperation with our Pakistani partners against all forms and manifestations of terrorism,” Putin wrote.

Meanwhile, the Russian embassy in Pakistan also condemned the terrorist attack and condoled with affected families.

Turkiye

Turkiye also condemned the deadly terror attack in the strongest possible terms.

“We extend our condolences to the people of Pakistan and wish a speedy recovery to those injured,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

“We will continue to support Pakistan in its fight against terrorism,” the ministry added.

Malaysia

Meanwhile, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies over the incident.

“On behalf of Malaysia, I extend our deepest condolences to the people of Pakistan, who mourn this senseless and devastating loss,” the Malaysian PM wrote on X.

United States

The US Mission to Pakistan also condemned the attack in a social media post on X and extended its deepest condolences to the victims and their families.

It said the United States will continue to stand with Pakistan in preventing such acts of terrorism against civilians and soldiers.

 UK

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott stated that the UK stands with Pakistan in condemning terrorism and violence.

Pakistan, particularly the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, has seen a sharp increase in terrorism-related incidents.

According to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), an Islamabad-based think tank, Pakistan has recorded 785 terrorist attacks during the first 10 months of 2024.
