International Seminar at QAU to Discuss FATF’s Assessment of India for Terror Financing

ISLAMABAD: Quaid-e-Azam University will host an international seminar on November 1 to discuss the expected outcomes of the upcoming on-site evaluation of India by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for terror financing.

This evaluation is scheduled for the next month as part of FATF’s ongoing assessment.

A delegation from the FATF, the global body responsible for combating money laundering and terrorist financing, will conduct an on-site evaluation in India. During this evaluation, the FATF team will assess the measures India has taken to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

Media reports suggest that India’s assessment will be based on 11 immediate outcomes outlined by the FATF, including stringent anti-money laundering and counter-terror financing frameworks.

Key Speakers to Address FATF-India Evaluation

Organized by the School of Politics and International Relations Department at QAU, the seminar will bring together approximately 300 PhD scholars, well-known journalists, and international delegates.

Distinguished speakers at the seminar will include Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance Dr. Waqar Masood Khan, Professor Dr. Baqir Malik of Concordia University, Canada, President of the National Youth Alliance Kamran Saeed Usmani, Zee News analyst Dr. Raja Kashif Janjua, and UNODC National Consultant in Cybercrimes and Forensics Fateh ud din B. Mehmood.

Other notable speakers include the Pakistan Bureau Chief of Almayadeen in Beirut, Baker Younis, Barra Khalid from Al Araby TV Channel in Qatar, and Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal from QAU.
