ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Malick, wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Mullick, has appealed to the international community to take notice of the worst Indian brutalities in Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).

Indian armed forces are using rape as a weapon of war to punish the entire illegally-occupied Kashmiri community. She was addressing a seminar organized by Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) on International Day to abolish violence against women. Mushaal Malick, Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization said that India has violated the clauses regulating sexual violence under international human rights law (IHRL) and international humanitarian law (IHL).

Mushaal described that around 2,500 women have been forced to live as half-widows. According to Kashmir human rights organization, women in IIOJ&K have horrified titles of half-widow or half-mothers. She requested the international community and global human rights bodies to come forward as women in IIOJK have been enduring shocking human rights abuse, including sexual violence, rape, and molestation, for over seven decades.
