TEHRAN, Iran: Iran’s Acting President Mohammad Mokhber has emphasized the strategic and unchangeable principles underlying Iran-China relations during a meeting with the new Chinese ambassador to Iran, Cong Peiwu.
Mokhber highlighted the importance of the long-term comprehensive cooperation document between the two countries, advocating for its implementation and the facilitation of private sector activities.
Mokhber underscored the significance of enhanced cooperation in energy and transportation, reflecting the dedication of high-ranking officials from both nations to benefit their people. He praised China’s stance against unilateralism and its support for Iran in international arenas, including its membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Ambassador Peiwu reaffirmed China’s strategic perspective on relations with Tehran and expressed China’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Iran, especially in new energy sectors and within regional and international organizations.
In a separate meeting with South Korea’s new ambassador to Iran, Kim Junpyo, Mokhber discussed the longstanding and friendly relations between Iran and South Korea. He stressed the importance of releasing Iran’s frozen assets in South Korea to rebuild bilateral relations. Ambassador Kim echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the deep trust and friendship between the two nations.
