Iran and Pakistan Hold Talks on Strengthening Military Cooperation

TEHRAN: The Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, hosted General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, in Tehran on Saturday to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, Major General Bagheri and General Asim Munir explored avenues to increase bilateral interactions and develop cooperation in various fields, including defense, security, military, and training.

Bagheri highlighted the historical background of Iran and Pakistan as neighboring countries, emphasizing its significance as a foundation for expanding bilateral relations and collaboration across different sectors. He underscored the importance of fostering military relations between Tehran and Islamabad, calling for an increase in training interactions and joint defense and security efforts at the regional level.

Pakistan’s Army Chief to Hold Meeting Other Iranian Officials

The discussions between the Iranian and Pakistani military officials reflect the shared commitment to further strengthening ties between the two nations. Both sides recognize the potential for deeper cooperation and collaboration, which can contribute to regional stability and security.

During his visit to Tehran, the Pakistani army chief is also scheduled to hold meetings with several other Iranian officials, further solidifying the dialogue and engagement between the two countries.
