TEHRAN: Iran said on Wednesday that its missile production remained unaffected after Israeli airstrikes on its military facilities last week.
Iranian Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said that Israeli strikes had not disrupted the production of offensive systems, including missiles.
“There has been no interruption in the process of producing offensive systems such as missiles,” Nasirzadeh told reporters. He further said that “the enemy tried to damage both our defensive and offensive systems,” but their operations continued without significant setbacks.
Israel’s airstrikes, conducted on Saturday, targeted military sites in Iran, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later claiming they had successfully hit “Iran’s defence capabilities and missile production.”

According to the Iranian military, the attack resulted in the deaths of four soldiers and limited damage to radar systems. Iranian media also reported a civilian fatality due to the strikes.
This recent escalation follows Iran’s October 1 missile attack, which Tehran conducted in response to the killing of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders and a commander from the Revolutionary Guards.
The incident has further strained relations between Iran and Israel, with both countries exchanging warnings in recent days. While Israel has warned Iran against retaliation, Tehran has pledged an “appropriate response” to the Israeli attacks. However, Iran has reiterated that it does not seek an open conflict.
