DAVOS: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, stated on Wednesday that attacks against Israel and its interests would cease if the conflict in Gaza came to an end.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Foreign Minister emphasized that an end to the Gaza war would result in a halt to military actions and crises in the region. Amirabdollahian warned that the failure to stop what he called Israel’s crimes in Gaza could escalate tensions across the Middle East.

Tehran accuses the United States of backing Israeli crimes in the region. “The security of the Red Sea is tied to the developments in Gaza, and everyone will suffer if Israel’s crimes in Gaza do not stop… All the fronts will remain active,” stated Amirabdollahian.

The foreign minister’s remarks come in the context of escalating tensions, with the US designating Yemen’s Houthi forces as a “terrorist” group. The Houthis, targeting Red Sea shipping in solidarity with Palestinians against Israel, have vowed a “strong and effective response” to US and British strikes.

Iran Strikes Israeli Intelligence Agency Mossad’s HQ in Iraq

Amirabdollahian also claimed that Tehran shared intelligence with Iraq regarding what it alleged were activities of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region. Iran recently stated that its Revolutionary Guards attacked Israel’s “spy HQ” in Erbil, Iraq, on Monday, although Iraq has denied the presence of such a spy center in the country.
