WARSAW:  Polish Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that Polish scientist Maciej Walczak has been released from prison in Iran and has returned to Poland.

“Achieving this goal was one of the top priorities of Poland’s diplomatic and consular services last year,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Polish scientist was arrested in July

In July, state television of Iran reported that the Revolutionary Guards had arrested several foreign nationals for acts that included taking soil samples in restricted areas.

The report identified one of those as Maciej Walczak.
