Iran Seeks More Electricity Projects with Pakistan

TEHRAN: Iran’s Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian has expressed interest to initiate more electricity projects with Pakistan.

During a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Khurram Dastgir in Tehran, the Iranian Minister appreciated Pakistani authorities on the construction of transmission line for the import of electricity from Iran to Gawadar at a faster pace.

Mutual areas of interest were also discussed during the meeting.

Khurram Dastgir thanked his counterpart for extending his cooperation in the field of Energy.

Pak-Iran Power Project

Pakistan’s energy minister is currently in Iran to discuss the progress on the Pak-Iran Power Project with the Iranian authorities.

Under the project, Pakistan will import 100 Megawatt of electricity from Iran. Work is underway on the transmission line for the project which is expected to be completed in record time.
