TEHRAN: Iran has extended its assistance to earthquake-stricken regions in neighboring Afghanistan by dispatching its fifth consignment of relief aid. The aid shipment, comprising essential supplies, was sent through the Dogharoun Border in the eastern part of the northeastern Iranian province of Khorasan Razavi.
The relief supplies, delivered in three truckloads, included a variety of essential items such as foodstuff, cooking oil, rice, canned food, blankets, detergents, hygienic items, and carpets, amounting to approximately $100,000 in value.

This humanitarian effort is aimed at supporting the affected communities in the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck western Afghanistan several weeks ago, claiming the lives of over 2,000 people. The 6.3-magnitude earthquake was one of the deadliest to hit the country in the past two decades.
Iran’s consistent aid shipments demonstrate a commitment to assisting its neighbors during times of crisis. The previous four aid shipments sent by Iran collectively contained more than 730 tonnes of various relief items, reflecting the country’s dedication to providing substantial support to those in need.
