TEHRAN: Iran has issued a robust condemnation of the recent military attacks on Yemen by the United States and the United Kingdom, labeling them as “arbitrary” actions that constitute a clear violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The attacks, carried out by airplanes, ships, and submarines, targeted cities such as Sana’a, Hudaydah, Sa’ada, and Dhamar, as announced by a US official.

In Iran’s initial response to the aggression, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani emphasized that these “arbitrary attacks” would only contribute to fueling insecurity and instability in the region. Kan’ani accused the US and the UK of providing unwavering support to the Zionist regime’s war crimes against the Palestinian nation, diverting attention from the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank.

“While the Zionist regime continues its attacks and war crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in Palestine, the United States and England are trying to detract the attention of the people of the world from the crimes of this fake, criminal, and aggressor regime against the people of Palestine,” stated Kan’ani.

Expressing concern about the potential consequences of such arbitrary attacks on regional and international peace, Kan’ani called on the international community to take responsible actions and prevent the escalation of war, instability, and insecurity in the region. The statements underscore Iran’s stance against foreign intervention in the internal affairs of sovereign nations and its commitment to regional peace and stability.
