Iranian Envoy Pays Tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi on Death Anniversary

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Amiri Moghadam on Monday paid tribute to philanthropist and humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi on his death anniversary being observed today.

In his message posted on the Iran Embassy official Facebook, and X platform, Amiri Moghadam said that he was a dedicated man and a treasure for the Pakistani society. He was a humanitarian, philanthropist and ascetic who founded the Edhi Foundation, which runs the world’s largest ambulance network, homeless shelters, animal shelters, rehabilitation centres, and orphanages across Pakistan. He is remembered for his dedication to Pakistan society.

Born in 1928, Abdul Sattar Edhi was a Pakistani humanitarian and philanthropist who founded the Edhi Foundation, which runs the ambulance network, along with homeless shelters, animal shelters, rehabilitation centres, and orphanages across Pakistan. He died on July 8, 2016, at the age of 88.
