ISLAMABAD: Commander of Iran Navy Rear Admiral Shahram Irani visited Naval Headquarters (NH) Islamabad on Monday and called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.
Upon arrival at NH, the Naval Chief received the visiting dignitary, and he was presented a Guard of Honour, a Pakistan Navy press release said.
After the wreath-laying at the Shuhada monument, the Irani commander was introduced to Principal Staff Officers at NH.
Later, he called on the Chief of the Naval Staff at his office. During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, such as bilateral and regional collaborations and maritime security in the region, were discussed.
The Naval Chief underlined Pakistan Navy’s (PN) initiatives to ensure maritime security and peace through Regional Maritime Security Patrols.
Iranian commander lauds PN
The visiting Admiral lauded and acknowledged the PN’s efforts and commitments to supporting collaborative maritime security.
Later on, the Iranian Commander was briefed on Pakistan Navy’s operational capabilities.
