TEHRAN: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi criticized Western powers for their handling of the conflict in Gaza during a meeting in Tehran on Thursday.

Raisi’s remarks came during a gathering with top Iranian officials and representatives of Islamic countries, convened to mark Eid al-Mab’ath.

According to Raisi, the ongoing conflict in Gaza, characterized by child killings and genocidal acts, exposes the hollowness of Western claims about respecting human rights. He also expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of international organizations in addressing such humanitarian crises.

Additionally, Raisi underscored his administration’s commitment to promoting justice and enhancing Iran’s economic conditions. He emphasized the importance of internal determination in addressing domestic challenges, stating that his administration does not rely on foreign assistance to tackle Iran’s issues.

The president’s remarks reflect Iran’s stance on international affairs and its criticism of Western interventions in conflicts across the Middle East. Raisi’s comments come amid heightened tensions between Iran and Western powers, particularly over issues such as the nuclear deal and regional conflicts.
