TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Azerbaijan.

Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov in Tehran on Wednesday, following the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president the previous day.

Describing the relationship between the two nations as brotherly, Pezeshkian highlighted their deep religious and cultural bonds.

He emphasized that his administration would focus on advancing relations with neighboring countries and implementing agreements made under the late President Ebrahim Raisi.

Pezeshkian underscored the importance of cooperation in developing transit routes, particularly the completion of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), as a key component for expanding Iran-Azerbaijan relations.

Prime Minister Asadov echoed his country’s commitment to enhancing relations with Iran.
