Iran’s Ambassador Expresses Condolences Over Policemen’ Deaths in Rahim Yar Khan

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam has extended his deep condolences to the government and people of Pakistan and bereaved families over the loss of police personnel lives in Rahim Yar Khan attack.

In a statement via social media, the Ambassador said, “  I extend my heartfelt condolences to the people,@GovtofPakistan & families who lost loved ones consequent to the armed attack against the Pakistani police forces in Rahim Yar Khan, leading to the martyrdom of 12 brave Pakistani officers. My sincere prayers for the safe & speedy recovery of the injure. May God Almighty bless the soul of the Martyrs,”.

At least eleven policemen were martyred and seven others sustained injuries following a rocket attack by Kacha bandits on police mobile vans in Rahim Yar Khan’s Machka area on Thursday, local media reported.

According to local media reports citing police sources, two police vans carrying over 20 policemen were trapped in rainwater in the Machka locality when bandits launched rockets at them. The ambush resulted in the martyrdom of at least 11 policemen. Additionally, seven officers were injured, and four others remain missing after the attack.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the dacoits’ attack, expressing deep grief over the loss of the officers’ lives. In a statement, he paid rich tribute to the martyred police personnel and offered prayers for the recovery of the wounded.
