TEHRAN, Iran: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Cairo, marking the first visit by an Iranian foreign minister to Egypt in nearly 12 years.
His visit comes as part of a multi-country diplomatic tour aimed at addressing regional tensions, particularly concerning Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Lebanon. Araghchi’s last stop was Jordan, where he met with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II to discuss the ongoing conflicts.
This diplomatic push follows earlier visits to different countries in Middle East including Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, Iraq and others to name a few, highlighting Tehran’s efforts to prevent the further spread of regional violence.
Iran has warned it will retaliate if Israel responds militarily to its October 1 missile strike, which Iran claims was in retaliation for the killings of allied commanders.
Araghchi is also scheduled to visit Turkiye next as part of this diplomatic initiative.
