Iraqi Prime Minister to Attend Oath-Taking Ceremony of Iran’s President-Elect Pezeshkian

TEHRAN: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani will attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s President-Elect Masoud Pezeshkian next week, reported by Iraqi website “Baghdad Today” citing an official from Iraq’s Foreign Ministry.

According to the report, Prime Minister Al Sudani has received an official invitation to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s new president.

The inauguration of President-Elect Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to take place next Tuesday afternoon in the Iranian Parliament.

Iranian Parliament’s Presiding Board spokesperson Hojjatoleslam Alireza Salimi confirmed that parliamentary members will welcome delegations and foreign officials attending the ceremony earlier that morning.

The event is expected to host five presidents and ten parliament speakers in attendance. Pezeshkian emerged victorious from a field of five candidates in Iran’s recent presidential election, securing the highest number of votes.
