IRSA Releases Water from Various Rim Stations

ISLAMABAD: In response to inflows of 250,500 cusecs, the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) released 226,400 cusecs of water from multiple rim stations on Monday. Data provided by IRSA indicates significant water levels across key rivers and dams in Pakistan.

At Tarbela Dam, the water level in the River Indus stood at 1470.00 feet, marking an increase of 72.00 feet from its dead level of 1,398 feet. Inflows and outflows at the dam were measured at 64,700 cusecs and 63,900 cusecs respectively, reflecting substantial water movement.

Similarly, at Mangla Dam, the water level in the River Jhelum was recorded at 1172.45 feet, surpassing its dead level by 122.45 feet. Inflows and outflows were reported at 65,200 cusecs and 42,000 cusecs respectively, highlighting the significant flow of water in the river.

Furthermore, water releases from various points were as follows: 119,900 cusecs from Kalabagh, 59,000 cusecs from Taunsa, 42,000 cusecs from Guddu, and 13,500 cusecs from Sukkur. Additionally, 87,200 cusecs of water were released from River Kabul at Nowshera, while 18,800 cusecs were discharged from River Chenab at Marala.

These figures underscore the active management of water resources by IRSA to regulate flow and ensure the efficient utilization of water for various purposes across the region.
