KABUL: The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for Monday’s deadly attack on a hotel in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
The hotel has been frequented by Chinese businessmen. The militant group said two personnel attacked a facility frequented by Chinese diplomats and business people in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, where they detonated two explosive devices hidden inside two bags, one targeting a party for Chinese visitors and the other targeting the reception hall.

It said one of the two fighters threw hand grenades at Taliban security officers, trying to stop them. At the same time, the other began detonating explosives he had stuck on the hotel room doors and firing on Chinese guests at the facility.
