Islamabad Plans Int’l Standard Football Stadium

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has greenlighted the construction of an international standard football stadium in Islamabad, local media reported on Monday.

The CDA Board took the decision in its sixth meeting of the year, which was chaired by Chairman Captain (Retd) Noor ul Amin Mengal at the authority’s headquarters.

In the meeting, the board decided to make rainwater harvesting in Islamabad’s residential and commercial buildings mandatory. It decided not to approve any building map if it does not include a water recharging well and tank.

Moreover, the board also ratified the rules and regulations for strengthening Sanitation Directorate and Environment Wing and authorized it to impose punishments and penalties.

The board also decided to resume the work on the cultural complex Shakarparian which had been halted since 2010 and also approved changing its name to ‘Al-Hamra Islamabad’.

Meanwhile, it was also decided to rename the Ladies Club located in Sector G-10 to ‘Citizen Center G-10’.

The board also approved the establishment of Green Fund and announced that 2% of the total cost of all major projects to be started in the capital will be deposited to this fund while all the important projects will also contribute to it under CSR.

Moreover, the board approved the establishment of CDA Pension Fund and Endowment Fund and recommended that 5% of the income should be placed in these funds.
