ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police on Friday arrested a police guard of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Sahil Muhammad after he resorted to aerial firing outside the Election Commission of Pakistan’s headquarters in the red zone.

As PTI workers and leaders converged outside the ECP offices, a commotion ensued as PTI workers attempted to barge into the election commission office only to be pushed back by the security personnel deployed with riot gear.

During the total chaos, the PTI member’s security guard, who belonged to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police, made an aerial fire before the ICT police sprang into action, arrested the errand police cop, and dragged him into a police van.

The K-P policeman made hue and cry and shouted slogans stating that “he was ready to sacrifice his everything for Imran Khan.

Islamabad police also took another guard of MNA Salih Muhammad in custody after he attempted to salvage his arrested colleague from the custody of the Islamabad police.

A large number of PTI workers and leaders had gathered outside the ECP after the election body announced the verdict, disqualifying party chief and former prime minister Imran Khan.

Islamabad police and administration had put in place foolproof security arrangements in the red zone, including outside the ECP office.
