ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police has launched a special awareness campaign aimed at eradicating narcotics usage from the federal capital and ensuring the safety of the youth from the curse of drugs.
Police teams are conducting special lectures across various educational institutions to educate students about the adverse effects of drugs and preventive measures.
Highlighting the importance of the campaign, Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan said that police have launched this special awareness campaign to rid the federal capital of narcotics and safeguard the young generation from the curse of drugs.
During this campaign, police teams are delivering lectures in various educational institutes, elucidating the dangers of drug consumption and underscoring the importance of preventive measures to safeguard students’ health and future.
Students are earnestly encouraged to safeguard themselves and actively contribute to preserving their surroundings from the detrimental impact of drugs. The collaboration of parents and teachers is also being sought to prevent youth from succumbing to the pitfalls of substance abuse.
A plea has been extended to the public to promptly report any drug-related activities in their vicinity, recognizing their cooperation as pivotal for the effective elimination of this menace.
Islamabad Capital Police, in tandem with the Anti-Narcotics Force, is collaboratively addressing drug trafficking, deploying specialized teams to apprehend drug peddlers operating within educational institutions.
ICCPO asserted that individuals engaged in narcotics and liquor-related businesses will face legal consequences, as Islamabad Capital Police proactively engages with the community to fortify the city’s safety and security. Citizens are strongly encouraged to report any suspicious persons or activities to the relevant police station, the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” or the “ICT Police” app. —APP
