It maintained Islamabad showed exemplary restraint which was a testament of their systemic maturity and constant commitment to peace as a responsible nuclear nation.

The spokesperson said that the careless act by New Delhi was in violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, the Articles on the Responsibility of States for Internationally Wrongful Acts, safety protocols and civil aviation rules. The spokesperson said that it exposed many technical lapses and loopholes in the Indian system regarding handling of its strategic arms.

Despite the lapse of one year, the Indian government had not agreed to Islamabad’s demand of a joint investigation to accurately establish the facts surrounding this grave incident.

Islamabad said that New Delhi has also not shared findings of its internal probe with Pakistan. The spokesperson said that its unilateral closure of the so-called probe had raised many serious questions about the command-and-control systems of India.

The spokesperson concluded that Islamabad reiterates its demand for joint inquiry into this irresponsible incident and also expects a satisfactory reply to and clarification of several fundamental questions regarding security protocols and technical safeguards against the accidental or unauthorized launch of missiles in a nuclearized environment.
