ISLAMABAD: The project is to install state-of-the-art LED street lights and repair the existing ones throughout Islamabad on main roads and avenues, which is in full swing and near completion.

According to the details, funds were allocated last month for this project. This strategic initiative will ensure well-lit roads and streets and play a pivotal role in curbing criminal activities within the capital.

It is believed that the surge in street crimes in various sectors of the federal capital prompted residents to bring the issue to the attention of relevant authorities. In response, the CDA has taken proactive measures to address the public’s concerns, focusing on providing urban facilities and maintaining critical infrastructure, including installing street lights, road resurfacing, and resolving water-related issues that had been overlooked in the past.

The emphasis is on completing pending development projects in sectors I, G, H, and D. This includes the provision of civic amenities and support for home builders in these sectors, aligning with the directives of Chairman CDA, Capt (R) Anwar ul Haq.

Installing streetlights along major roads and within sectors, such as G-7, G-8, G-9, G-10, I-11, I-10, and I-14, marks a significant stride towards ensuring effective lighting management.
