LONDON: Israeli spy agency killed Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh with the help of Iranian agents, the British media claimed on Saturday.

According to the British media, the Iranian agents installed explosives materials in three rooms of the guest house of Ismail Haniyeh, saying that the Iranian authorities had the footages of the agents moving inside the room.

The report said that the agents left Iran following installing explosives there, saying that explosives were destroyed via a remote control operating from the outside of Iran.

The news report claimed that earlier plan was to assassinate the Hamas political leader at the funerals of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated inside a guesthouse in Iran where he had attended the swearing-in ceremony of new President of Iran.
