Israel Continues Unrelenting Gaza Bombardment on Fourth Day as Death Toll Rises

GAZA CITY: The conflict between Israel and Hamas entered its fourth day with unrelenting Israeli military airstrikes, leaving the Gaza Strip in ruins and claiming the lives of at least 770 innocent Palestinian citizens, according to latest reports. Israeli forces continued their bombardment, specifically targeting downtown Gaza City.

In Gaza, hospitals overwhelmed as the Israeli military continues bombardment of the Gaza Strip on fourth day. Palestinian health ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO) call for humanitarian corridor “to ensure the entry of urgent medical aid” into hospitals in Gaza.

Israeli military spokesperson Lt Col Hecht announced that Israeli forces had gained control of the country’s south and had “restored full control” across the border. The conflict has led to a dire humanitarian crisis, with over 187,000 of Gaza’s 2.3 million people fleeing their homes, seeking shelter amidst the the unrelenting Israeli bombardment. UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, is currently providing shelter to more than 137,000 people in schools across the territory, while families have taken in approximately 41,000 others.

Israel Warns to Flatten Gaza

In the midst of the violence, Israel has issued warnings and threats to flatten Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed action against the Islamic group. The situation has become increasingly dire, with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant ordering a “complete siege” on Gaza, cutting off electricity and blocking the entry of essential supplies, including food and water, exacerbating the suffering of the people trapped in the conflict zone.

The international community, including the UN, has expressed deep concern about the situation and called for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.
