GAZA: Israel’s air and ground offensive in the Gaza Strip continued, resulting in the death of more than 18 people in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, as reported by Palestinian media. Simultaneously, residents of the Bureij camp were instructed by the Israeli army to relocate southward as the ground offensive persisted.
In New York, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution urging increased humanitarian aid for Gaza. However, the resolution stopped short of calling for an immediate ceasefire in the conflict. Palestinian news agency Wafa stated that an airstrike on a house in Nuseirat resulted in at least 18 deaths and numerous injuries.
The situation worsened as an airstrike destroyed a water treatment plant in Jabalia, northern Gaza. Residents of Bureij were forced to evacuate for their safety and move towards the city of Deir al-Balah. Displaced individuals expressed distress, highlighting the lack of safe places amid the conflict.

Reports also indicated air strikes near the Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, and Doctors Without Borders condemned Israel’s “indiscriminate strikes” that turned parts of Gaza into rubble. The UN’s World Food Programme warned of “catastrophic hunger conditions” affecting around 500,000 people in Gaza due to diminishing food and water supplies.
The UN Security Council’s adopted resolution aimed to establish “extended humanitarian pauses and corridors” throughout Gaza, with the US and Russia abstaining. Thirteen other council members, including the UK, supported the resolution, which calls for conditions leading to a “sustainable cessation of hostilities” and immediate humanitarian aid delivery. Hamas criticized the resolution as insufficient, accusing the US of diluting its essence.
