RAMALLAH, Palestine: The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has said that during the year 2024, the Israeli forces destroyed 815 mosques and partially damaged 151.
The ministry in its special report issued on Sunday outlined the ongoing Israeli violations against Islamic and Christian religious sites in the West Bank and Gaza Strip throughout 2024.
According to the Ministry, during the year 2024, the Israeli forces destroyed 815 mosques and partially damaged 151. In addition, 19 cemeteries were also completely obliterated, with graves desecrated, and bodies exhumed.
The report also says that three churches in Gaza City were also targeted and destroyed during the ongoing Israeli war.
The Ministry further denounced the attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, adding that Israeli authorities allowed Jewish settlers to storm and defile the mosque compound.

The report mentions 256 incidents of settler incursions into the holy site, during which religious practices were conducted in defiance of the sanctity of the site, including the controversial actions of far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
On one occasion, during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, 2,567 Jewish settlers entered the mosque courtyard and performed rituals such as dancing, singing, and performative prostration.
Gaza Death Toll Surges to 45,805
According to Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll in Israel’s war in Gaza has risen to 45,805, with 88 more people killed in the last 24 hours.
Additionally, 208 people were injured in attacks carried out by the Israeli army in various parts of Gaza, the ministry reported.
It added that the total number of injured in the Israeli aggression has soared to 109,064. The ministry also noted that bodies remain trapped under rubble and along roadsides.
