JERUSALEM: Israeli special forces have retrieved the body of 28-year-old hostage Elia Toledano who had been held by the Hamas in the Gaza Strip since the organization’s October 7 rampage in southern Israel, the military said in a statement on Friday.
The military stated an “identification procedure” had been conducted by medical officials, military rabbis and forensic experts.
Toledano was seized by Hamas from an outdoor music festival that resulted in casualties Israeli media reported.
More than 130 hostages are still held in Gaza, with some already declared dead in absentia by Israeli authorities.
