Israeli Tanks Enter Gaza City Borders, Warns Palestinians to Evacuate

GAZA STRIP: Israeli tanks have advanced into the borders of Gaza City on Monday as Israel intensified its military operations in the Palestinian territory, resulting in devastating Palestinian casualties. Israeli authorities have also warned Palestinian civilians to immediately evacuate Gaza as residents in Gaza revealed receiving phone calls from Israeli officials warning them to immediately evacuate the area.

The Israeli military spokesperson stated that they had targeted over 600 sites in the past 24 hours, a significant increase from the previous day’s 450 strikes. Hamas also reported a heavy army presence in northern Gaza.

Israeli Tanks Enter Gaza City

Witnesses confirmed that “dozens” of Israeli tanks entered the Zaytun district, located on the southern fringes of Gaza City, cutting a vital road connecting the northern and southern parts of the war-torn Palestinian territory. Residents revealed that the tanks had severed the Salahedin road and were firing at any vehicles attempting to use it. Israeli warnings about considering the northern areas of Gaza.

Zaytun, typically home to over 130,000 residents, witnessed significant destruction in recent days due to Israeli air strikes, with Israeli strikes demolishing dozens of buildings west of the Salahedin road. Additionally, Israeli airstrikes targeted Tal al-Hawwa, a district in the city’s southwest, where at least 10 high-rise buildings were razed. The strikes also damaged a Turkish-funded cancer treatment hospital in the same area, according to its director Sobhi Skeik.

Israel had previously warned the 1.1 million people residing in northern Gaza, including Gaza City, to evacuate. Despite the exodus of a considerable number of people in recent weeks, tens of thousands are believed to remain in the zone.
