He emphasized the importance of addressing key issues such as population control, education access, and the pressing youth bulge.

Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, Director General of ISSI, provided insights into the book’s critical themes, which include enhancing economic competitiveness through export promotion and sustainable energy security. He noted the book’s focus on the interconnectedness of demographic trends and gender inclusivity with Pakistan’s sustainable development goals.

Dr. Neelum Nigar remarked that the book arrives at a crucial time, advocating for integrated strategies in light of Pakistan’s ongoing economic challenges. Haroon Sharif discussed the need to restructure Pakistan’s economy, shifting from a reliance on geopolitical positioning to fostering competitiveness.

Other speakers, including Dr. Faisal Bari, emphasized the country’s need to invest in education and health, criticizing the lack of political will as a major barrier to progress. Ms. Kosar Bano highlighted the differentiated impacts of climate change on women, calling for gender-sensitive policies to enhance resilience.
