ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Transport Authority (ITA) on Wednesday impounded 5 public transport vehicles and issued challans to 12 others over fitness issues.
ITA Secretary inspected various wagon and bus stations and found 5 vehicles unsafe to run on the road. He impounded these vehicles immediately, said a press release issued from the Authority.
ITA also imposed fines of 27,000 rupees on various vehicles over substandard conditions and not possessing fitness certificates.
Smoke-emitting cars fined
The Authority also fined smoke-emitting and pollution-making cars, warned public transport drivers of stern action, and said that cars not having fitness certificates would not be allowed in Islamabad.
