ABU DHABI: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with UAE’s minister for Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Al-Jaber, and discussed bilateral ties and matters of mutual interest during the meeting, Arab media reported on Friday.
UAE-Italy Ties
A top Italian diplomatic source told Arab News that Italy would extend its cooperation with UAE on COP28 that to be held in Dubai in November.
Arab media reported that a declaration of cooperation for COP28 would be inked during Meloni’s visit to UAE. Sources said that the agreement would position Italy as a key partner on environmental and climate change.
During the two-day tour, the Prime Minister of Italy will pursue consolidating bilateral ties between UAE and Italy, with a special focus on cooperation in environmental and energy issues. The Prime Minister will hold a meeting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Saturday. She will also hold interaction with the Italian community in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She will also hold talks with UAE’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan during her stay in the Gulf country.
