ISLAMABAD/ TOKYO: Japan Defence Ministry has started working on developing multiple long-range missiles with a target range of up to 3,000 kilometres.
The country aims to deploy long-range missiles by the 2030s, Kyodo news reported on Saturday, citing a source familiar with the development.
Long-range missiles
According to Reuters, Kyodo said that the government is looking to deploy a 2,000-km-long range missile and a 3,000-km-long hypersonic long-range missile by the early 2030s. The missiles will hit far-away targets.
Japan has unveiled its military build-up since World War Two with a $320 billion plan that could buy the missiles capable of striking the enemy land as regional tensions and Russia’s Ukraine invasion stoke war fears.
