ISLAMABAD: Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro hosted a farewell reception at his residence in Islamabad as he prepared to conclude his three-year tenure as Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan.
Reflecting on his time, Ambassador WADA highlighted his dedication to fostering Japan-Pakistan relations, particularly through economic cooperation, cultural exchanges, and development assistance.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of Japan’s official development assistance (ODA) to Pakistan, with a strong focus on human-centered projects, an approach aimed at empowering local communities alongside the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
WADA expressed confidence in Pakistan’s resilient spirit and potential for growth, affirming Japan’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s development in the years ahead.
He acknowledged the roles of cultural organizations like the Pakistan Japan Cultural Association and MEXT Scholarship alumni, which contribute to lasting people-to-people connections.
Ambassador WADA also emphasized the importance of unity among Pakistan’s leadership and its people to overcome current challenges, underlining Japan’s solidarity in Pakistan’s journey toward stability and development.
Ambassador WADA will soon take up his new assignment in Croatia, with Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi succeeding him in Islamabad in late November, hoping to build upon WADA’s work in strengthening Japan-Pakistan relations.
