NEW YORK: Amid her ongoing divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez has taken to social media to urge her fans to participate in the 2024 United States presidential election.
The 55-year-old actress and singer partnered with the non-partisan organization I Am A Voter to emphasize the importance of civic engagement.
In a recent video, Lopez addressed her fellow citizens, reminding them that the general election is set for November 5, with many voters able to cast their ballots earlier.
“This year we’re voting for President, every seat in the House, a third of the Senate, and key state and local leaders who directly shape our lives. So let’s do this together,” she stated.
The star encouraged viewers to “text VOTER to 26797” to check their registration status and plan their voting strategy. Concluding her message with a rallying cry, she asked, “I’m a voter. Are you?”
The video comes during a challenging personal time for Lopez, who filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024 after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
According to reports from PEOPLE, Lopez is not feeling “bitter” about the split but is instead focusing on her future.
