Job Cuts: Maker Epic Games will Lay Off 16% of Staff

WASHINGTON:  Epic Games, one of the world’s most successful video games, is going to cut more than 870 jobs -about 16% of its workforce, Western media reported on Friday.

As per media reports, the job cuts were announced by the firm in a memo to its staff. Epic Games has been in a legal fight with Apple since 2020, when the gaming firm blamed Apple’s practice of charging up to thirty percent commissions on in-app on iPhones and other devices violated US rules and regulations.

Apple on Thursday urged the Court to strike down an order requiring some changes to its App Store rules and regulations stemming from an antitrust case brought by ‘Fortnite’ boss Epic Games.
