AMMAN: Jordan’s King Abdullah II has received a phone call from Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during which he called for global pressure toward an immediate truce in Gaza, state media reported on Friday.
Jordanian King “stressed the significance of protecting civilian population and increasing humanitarian help for Gaza, while guaranteeing its continued delivery, noting Amman’s efforts in this connection,” Jordanian news agency said.
The Jordanian King reaffirmed his nation’s rejection of attempts to forcibly displace people of Palestine in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, and called on world to help counter extremist settler violence in the occupied West Bank.
The King “reiterated that security and military means can never bring peace,” saying that the only way is to “create a political prospect that leads to comprehensive and just peace based on a two-state solution.”

Tens of thousands of fleeing Palestinian people sought shelter on Friday as Israeli forces and tanks pushed through the Gaza Strip, with over 180 people killed in 24 hours of attacks and artillery barrages on the shattered Strip.
More than 21,507 people mostly women and children were killed due to brutal Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since October 7. Almost all of the besieged Gaza’s 2.3 million people have been forced to flee their houses, some more than once, while thousands more bodies are thought to be buried in the wrecks of neighborhoods.
