Jordan’s King, UK’s PM Discuss Gaza Ceasefire, Bilateral Cooperation

AMMAN: Jordan’s King Abdullah II received a call on Monday from newly elected UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, discussing plans to strengthen bilateral ties, as reported by the Jordan News Agency.

King Abdullah extended congratulations to Starmer on his recent electoral success and reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation for mutual benefit and regional security.

The leaders also addressed the ongoing conflict in Gaza, with King Abdullah stressing the need for immediate international efforts to secure a ceasefire, protect civilians, and increase humanitarian aid flow.

Expressing deep concerns over regional escalation, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan’s support for a two-state solution as the essential path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
