MULTAN: Pakistan’s middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam etched his name in history with a remarkable debut century during the ongoing second Test against England in Multan. Replacing star batter Babar Azam in Pakistan’s lineup, Kamran seized the opportunity, becoming the 13th Pakistani player to score a century on Test debut.
Walking in to bat with Pakistan reeling at 19-2 within the first 10 overs, Kamran anchored the innings and formed a crucial 149-run partnership with Saim Ayub for the third wicket, stabilizing Pakistan’s position. His composed knock not only lifted the team out of trouble but also earned him a place on the exclusive list of Pakistani debutants who have reached the three-figure mark.
Kamran’s century makes him the first Pakistani since Abid Ali in 2019 to achieve this feat. Abid scored a debut century against Sri Lanka in December 2019.
